Zombies Everywhere!

Halloween is a time when we can dress up and/or take our kids out for a little fun. This year I’m staying home and handing out candy to all of the little horrors; emphasize horr-ors and not whores. It’s also a dangerous time when we let our guard down with all of the people knocking on the door, walking around, and dressed up as monsters.

If the zombie apocalypse was to happen on Halloween, we would be at a major disadvantage. The zombies would simply have the upper hand. Not that they wouldn’t under normal circumstances, but you have to understand the heightened danger. In a lot of scenarios; people would either ignore that approaching ghoul or have a delayed response. This slight delay in response would make a huge difference in terms of lives lost and people becoming infected.

A few tips for the holiday:
1] Awareness: Maintain your level of awareness when opening the door for others. You don’t have to answer the door with a machete in hand, but be smart and be ready.
2] Distance: Don’t let anyone suspicious get too close to you. If it looks out of place, chances are your instincts are right.
3] Defend: Need a makeshift weapon to help buy you time? Use a good heavy bowl for the candy that you hand out. You can at least use that to bash a zombie over the head until you’re able to get to something better.

Stay vigilant & safe.

I asked you to post your zombie costumes and pictures on twitter. Here are some of our followers who suited up for the occasion.
